MINIMUM POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma required
  • College degree in Production, Broadcasting or Communications areas is preferred.
  • A minimum of 2+ years of experience in Production and/or Broadcasting or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • General understanding of broadcast production
  • Basic Knowledge of Final Cut, Adobe Premier or Avid
  • Computer knowledge in MS Word and Excel
  • Comprehensive knowledge of sports
  • Ability to work independently in a high-pressure environment

MINIMUM POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of all TV production equipment and technology within Master Control operating areas, including but not limited to: network switching devices and associated automation software, network branding devices and associated keyer control systems, server based playback devices and related software applications, server based ingest/recording/playback devices, TV Production routers, etc.
  • Advanced understanding of TV Production methods of measuring audio and video signals to ensure quality control over multiple channels.
  • Thorough understanding of production operations workflow across all networks.  Technical responsibilities and processes, including but not limited to; manipulation of daily air logs, protocol for live programs, intercom communication procedures, etc. Firsthand knowledge of how other departments integrate with and support master control.
  • Proven experience in problem solving and troubleshooting techniques and effective communication with all supporting departments to best convey the issues necessary for resolution.
  • Efficient prioritization skills in the area of time management, which is fundamental in meeting daily, live TV Production deadlines. Demonstrated organizational, efficiency and planning skills are required.
  • Participation and provide training for required administrative tasks including, but not limited to, the effective utilization of all software based applications, as well as creation and distribution of daily shift reporting and discrepancy reporting.
  • Provide training/re-training and guidance for all Master Control Operators. 
  • Execute directive from superiors and client representatives.
  • Point of contact and technical facilitator for operational changes/additions per client request.
  • Delegation of shift tasking and defining responsibilities for Master Control Operators.
  • Fulfilling designated duties for disaster recovery; execution of emergency plans including but not limited to notification and establishing phone conference bridge.
  • Following and creating departmental standard operating procedures; knowledge of client standard operating procedures.
  • Leading through example by demonstrating proper work habits: following established procedures and rules.
  • Proven command of all aspects of playout for all client networks and knowledge of channel specific contacts for specific needs.

MINIMUM POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma required; college degree preferred.
  • 3 to 5 years of previous elevated master control experience
  • Previous leadership experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Ability to organize and function in a faced paced work environment
  • Ability to communicate both verbally and written with people at all levels within the company as well as with clients, vendors, program suppliers, etc.

MINIMUM POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide technical support, repair & routine maintenance of all audio and video equipment in the control room, production facility & radio studio at both venues.
  • Maintain in-house broadcast camera & AV cable systems to ensure connectivity and reliable transmissions at Pepsi Center & DSGP.
  • Act as EIC & liaison between, local, regional & national broadcasters and the arena to facilitate event coverage.
  • Facilitate studio and location production including audio, video and lighting set up.
  • Provide video support to Pepsi Center AV Engineering Dept.
  • Keep accurate inventory of equipment, tools & supplies for the Broadcast Dept.
  • Evaluate & recommend equipment purchases for Pepsi Center & DSGP

MINIMUM POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 5-7 years’ experience in a broadcast or similar technical environment to include audio, video and other media
  • Technical degree in electronics, video production or similar study highly preferred
  • Management of ENG Camera and Studio staff
  • Ability to work on a varied schedule to include evenings, weekends and holidays as needed
  • Skill in video producing and directing videos, Jumbotron applications and maintaining video production equipment
  • Demonstrates knowledge & skill with programming and maintenance of electronic systems including, Grass Valley – Karrera production switcher, LDX Elite production cameras, Trinix Router, Dyno Replay, K2 production SAN, Chyron Duet, Crossfire Click Effects, Adobe Creative, Final Cut Pro.

  • Functional knowledge and experience in broadcast production and network operational workflows. Knowledge of how other departmental activities integrate with, rely on and or support master control operations.
  • Operational knowledge of broadcast production equipment and technologies related to master control operations and network channel origination including but not limited to: production switchers and routers, VTRs, server based ingest/recording/playback devices and related software applications, channel automation software, network branding devices and associated keyer control systems, intercoms, etc…
  • A solid understanding of broadcast production techniques related to audio, video signal and related meta-data measurement, manipulation, playout and monitoring.
  • Responsibility for manipulation of daily channel logs, adherence to programming protocols and reporting of playout and shift activities, errors and discrepancies.
  • Experience in problem solving and troubleshooting techniques related to channel playout systems and procedures in order to rapidly and efficiently predict, avoid and correct problems.
  • Effective communication skills with all departments, staff and clients in order to communicate potential, real and or related issues, concerns or problems with content or network delivery. 
  • Strong personal organization, prioritization, time management and planning skills are required.
  • Participation in training programs for technical development related to equipment, software, workflow changes and or company policies and procedures.  

MINIMUM POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Two to four years of previous master control experience
  • High school diploma required; college degree preferred.
  • Proficiency in word processing and spreadsheet software programs; Word and Excel preferred
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays. Flexibility to alter shifts/days off to accommodate projects and departmental objectives.
