MINIMUM POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Facilitates the 24/7/365 operations and maintenance of ANOCBIT related systems including IT network: cabling, connectors, patch-bays, switches, firewalls, circuits, storage, data back-up, file structures, servers, computers, and their connections and interactions with Broadcast, Production, Transmission and Web-based systems, etc.   
  • Plans, documents and implements additions, deletions, major modifications as well as emergency response to the ANOCBIT infrastructure in direct coordination with Altitude Engineering and KSE IT to include, but not limited to: red lines current and new AutoCAD drawings and Excel docs, writes Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and performs cross-training with engineering, etc.
  • Plans and provides regularly scheduled ANOCBIT systems preventative maintenance including logging and record keeping; performs daily system health checks.
  • Oversees the implementation of ANOC network security between the Broadcast and Corporate Business IT systems.
  • Develops IT strategies, practices and procedures in support of the Altitude’s mission and core objectives as related to ANOCBIT and company business IT workflows and infrastructures.
  • Coordinates the preparation and implementation of policies, procedures and standards relating to ANOCBIT workflows and systems; enforces company IT and ANOCBIT policies and procedures.
  • Manages multiple IT disciplines, i.e. software development, technical support, systems architecture, systems documentation, etc.
  • Researches and evaluates new IT technologies which may include attending workshops, conferences, expos, seminars to keep up to date with broadcast and IT issues.

MINIMUM POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Solid background in television broadcast: operations, engineering and information technologies.
  • Theoretical and operational understanding of current broadcast and IT industry standards and practices as related to studio and remote production, multi-channel origination, transmission systems, file-based workflows and maintenance.
  • Strong operating system background in Microsoft, Macintosh, Linux and Unix.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills. Technical writing skills for documentation and SOPs for future reference and distribution to engineering.
  • Ability to work and maintain professional communications under pressure in dynamic production and broadcast environments.
  • Ability to work closely with other persons and departments and accept or hand-off information, projects or tasking as required.
  • Ability to consistently meet and or exceed performance and intrapersonal/corporate communications expectations, as well as established milestones and deadlines. 
  • Flexible schedule: days, weekends and night hours may be required.
  • High school diploma required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technologies, Communications, Broadcasting, or related field is preferred.  Cisco Nortel Class A Switch certification or equivalent technical training is required.
  • 5+ years of experience in IT and/or broadcast operations and engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience.

MINIMUM POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist Chief Engineer in all facets of production, post-production and master control facility operations and engineering in a 24/7/365 television network operations center.
  • In an environment focused on “Live Event” production, check-in, supervise, troubleshoot, resolve, and document remote live event feeds.
  • Maintain, diagnose, and repair all issues with equipment.
  • Make entries in maintenance log.
  • Prepare and update as-built and signal flow facility documentation.

MINIMUM POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Good working knowledge of the principles, terminology, tools, and equipment utilized in the area of television production/broadcast engineering.
  • Solid understanding of IT and all its principles, especially with regard to network security, life-cycle asset management, database management, and user account administration.
  • Understanding of automation in the context of television network operations.
  • Understanding of satellite uplink transmission and downlink conditional access.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, appropriately, and succinctly in dynamic situations.
  • Ability to troubleshoot, make quick decisions, and execute resolutions quickly in dynamic situations.

  • Functional knowledge and experience in broadcast production and network operational workflows. Knowledge of how other departmental activities integrate with, rely on and or support master control operations.
  • Operational knowledge of broadcast production equipment and technologies related to master control operations and network channel origination including but not limited to: production switchers and routers, VTRs, server based ingest/recording/playback devices and related software applications, channel automation software, network branding devices and associated keyer control systems, intercoms, etc…
  • A solid understanding of broadcast production techniques related to audio, video signal and related meta-data measurement, manipulation, playout and monitoring.
  • Responsibility for manipulation of daily channel logs, adherence to programming protocols and reporting of playout and shift activities, errors and discrepancies.
  • Experience in problem solving and troubleshooting techniques related to channel playout systems and procedures in order to rapidly and efficiently predict, avoid and correct problems.
  • Effective communication skills with all departments, staff and clients in order to communicate potential, real and or related issues, concerns or problems with content or network delivery. 
  • Strong personal organization, prioritization, time management and planning skills are required.
  • Participation in training programs for technical development related to equipment, software, workflow changes and or company policies and procedures.

  • Two to four years of previous master control experience
  • High school diploma required; college degree preferred.

POSITION: ASSOCIATE MOTION GRAPHICS DESIGNER

GENERAL PURPOSE

Develop award-winning broadcast design elements for Creative Services, Production, Advertising Sales, Affiliate Sales and Marketing.  This includes concept development, graphic design, animation and production.  The elements should fit seamlessly into the overall look and attitude of the network.  Strong creativity, excellent communication skills, and ability to multi-task are a must.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work with Creative Director and Creative Services Director to develop cohesive look for all on-air elements
  • Design and create elements used in all areas of Creative Services Department including game elements, commercial and sponsorship, on-air promotions, public service announcements, community relations pieces
  • Develop the look, feel, and design for motion projects under the guidance of the Creative Director and Creative Services Director
  • Create samples and make recommendations on new looks for elements
  • Composition of multiple elements as requested 
  • Produce elements as requested
  • Understand brand and marketing objectives, contributing to the evolution and success of the overall business
  • Keep informed on new technology
  • Develop layouts and storyboards
  • Other projects or duties as requested to assist in Creative Services Department

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge, Skill and Ability:

  • Excellent design skills
  • Well-versed in Adobe Creative Cloud software including After Effects, Illustrator, Photoshop, and Premier.  Strong knowledge of Cinema 4D a must.  Proficient in Final Cut preferred.
  • Ability to generate multiple compositions for both in and out-of-house clients
  • Must be able to install hardware, software programs, and have the knowledge to troubleshoot computer issues
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Comprehensive knowledge of sports is preferred
  • Flexibility of schedule/days and hours is essential

Education or Formal Training:

  • High school diploma required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Graphics Design is preferred  or similar work experience

Experience:

  • A minimum of 2+ years of experience in Graphics Design and/or Production or equivalent combination of education and experience

Material and Equipment Used:

Altitude Sports & Entertainment Internship Program Information

Welcome to Altitude Sports & Entertainment. We are the regional broadcast network home of the Colorado Avalanche, Denver Nuggets, Colorado Mammoth, Colorado Rapids, collegiate games, high-school events, as well as entertainment and community programming. We strive to provide internships that are rewarding both academically and professionally.

Our internships are offered in a variety of areas throughout our organization, including Production, Operations, Advertising Sales, Affiliate Sales and Broadcast Services. Depending on the nature of the position, the internships vary in length and time of year.

All of our internships are paid.  However, you can still receive academic credit for the experience as well.

Summer 2015  ALTITUDE SPORTS & ENTERTAINMENT INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITIES

PRODUCTION (Altitude Network Operations Center, Centennial)

  • Help in studio on game nights
  • Assist on shoots at various locations throughout the Denver metro area
  • Roughly 15-20 hours a week, including nights and weekends, some hours at Pepsi Center and/or Dick’s Sporting Goods Park, many at the Network Operations Center
  • Training on various broadcast equipment in technical center and in the field
  • Logging
  • General duties as assigned

Production Intern qualifications:

  • Paid, able to receive school credit
  • Must be available 15-20 hours/week, including nights and weekends
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Prefer Television Production, Broadcast, Technical Communications, or similar major
  • Interest in sports television and knowledge of local sports teams is necessary
  • Strong interest assisting Videographers and Producers with production of Altitude weekly and game shows
