ESSENTIAL DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITLES:

  • Rapidly assess, troubleshoot and work to correct technical problems and/or employ viable and timely work-arounds to facilitate operational objectives
  • Directly assist and support studio operations, productions, post-productions, feed and master control
  • Interface and work directly with vendors to coordinate technical processes necessary to facilitate televised events and ongoing channel origination
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and replace defective equipment.
  • Resolve issues through analysis and troubleshooting, fabricating, cabling, and wiring new installs with proper labeling and documentation.
  • Daily completion of shift check routines that monitor status and health of facility equipment.
  • Maintain broadcast equipment and systems
  • Maintains advanced knowledge of video and audio processing and encoding technologies.
  • Develops and updates Standard Operating Procedures, Change Configuration Requests, System Diagrams, and other technical documentation for all compression systems and functions.
  • Coordinate and assist with maintenance of HVAC, electrical, telephone, broadcast IT and back-up power and data storage systems

MINIMUM POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Knowledge, Skill and Ability:
  • Working knowledge of television production, transmission, measurement and systems
  • Working knowledge of the terminology, tools, and processes used in the areas of studio and remote production and broadcast engineering
  • Working TV transmitter/RF knowledge
  • Ability to work under a dynamic and high-pressure environment.
  • Ability maintain professional composure and to provide and apply critical thinking to problem resolution in high stress or time sensitive environments
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as operating and maintenance procedures, system documentation, technical manuals, system diagrams, etc.
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and must be flexible enough to deal with different technical skill levels, skill sets and a highly dynamic work environment and schedules.
  • Ability to deal with concurrent problems and issues effectively.
  • Ability to exercise good judgment and accept personal responsibility
  • Ability to work any shift as assigned, as dictated by the needs of a 24/7 business
Essential to this position are:
  • Knowledge of the operation of Automation, Production Switchers, Conversion, Master Control, Media
  • Management, Routing equipment.
  • Knowledge of digital and high definition studio equipment, ENG & EFP cameras and gear
  • A good working knowledge of Windows operating systems and networked-based computer systems
  • Demonstrable customer service and client management skills and experience.
  • Excellent verbal and non-verbal communication skills.
  • Self-motivated attitude and excellent personal time management skills.
Advantageous to this position are:
  • Video over IP / TVE / OTT knowledge
  • Experience with Broadcast IT network architecture and related technology, editing, media file transfer workflows, transcoding, and server based technology.
  • Knowledge of Non-Linear editing systems.
  • Hands-on, bench-tech and electronics repair experience
Education or Formal Training:
  • High school diploma required; college degree and technical training is preferred.

POSITION: EDITOR/PRODUCER

MINIMUM POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Produces and edits original and sponsor video pieces.
  • Responsible for maintaining quality and standards of video projects produced by Broadcast.
  • Expertise in operating Adobe Premiere, Adobe Photoshop, After Effects and other professional editing tools and software.
  • Editing with layers, matte keys, audio sweetening, graphic creation and production and other effects including 3rd party plus-ins with speed and efficiency.
  • Ability to create segments that have high quality standards for video, music, sound, and story narrative.
  • Must be able to work in a collaborative post production environment with extremely tight and changing deadlines.
  • Troubleshooting capabilities for media processing and file transfers.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Communicates effectively and regularly with other departments including corporate sponsorship, marketing & game presentation to develop concepts and ascertain needs.
  • Knowledge of/continuous skill improvement with common editing tools.
  • Work with talent and producers to shoot interviews, cutaway video and feature packages on-location
  • Work as camera operator on remote productions and in studio as requested

MINIMUM POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred and/or equivalent training and experience in all of the above programs.
  • Technical training or on-the-job training in video production and editing or closely related study.
  • 3+ Years of experience in a video production environment to include experience using industry standard video editing & graphic software.
  • Ability to handle oneself professionally around co-workers, professional athletes and upper management
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Creative- Premiere, After Effects, Photoshop & Illustrator. Knowledgeable with multiple video codecs and formats of video codecs. Must possess skill/experience with FTP sites.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Must be able to show creativity and good work ethic with moderate to little supervision.
  • Technical training or on-the-job training in video production and editing or closely related study.
  • Full understanding of location sound and shooting. Creative lighting a must
  • Able to light and shoot on location and studio
  • Candidates must be proficient in all aspects of video and/ or audio production from lighting and shooting to equipment maintenance
  • Experience in producing live or pre-recorded program with minimal supervision.
  • Experience with BetaCam, Digi Beta, Beta SP cameras and experience with a variety of audio packages required
  • Ability to acquire or produce and maintain a valid Colorado driver’s license and meet company vehicle driving standards.
  • Ability to travel 40% of the year.

MINIMUM POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist Chief Engineer in all facets of production, post-production and master control facility operations and engineering in a 24/7/365 television network operations center.
  • In an environment focused on “Live Event” production, check-in, supervise, troubleshoot, resolve, and document remote live event feeds.
  • Maintain, diagnose, and repair all issues with equipment.
  • Make entries in maintenance log.
  • Prepare and update as-built and signal flow facility documentation.

MINIMUM POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Good working knowledge of the principles, terminology, tools, and equipment utilized in the area of television production/broadcast engineering.
  • Solid understanding of IT and all its principles, especially with regard to network security, life-cycle asset management, database management, and user account administration.
  • Understanding of automation in the context of television network operations.
  • Understanding of satellite uplink transmission and downlink conditional access.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, appropriately, and succinctly in dynamic situations.
  • Ability to troubleshoot, make quick decisions, and execute resolutions quickly in dynamic situations.

  • Casts out formats into traffic system as necessary
  • Build on-air logs
  • Input traffic and instructions into traffic system
  • Assist Outdoor Channel and Sportsman Channel with quarter changes
  • Back up for all traffic personnel
  • Troubleshoot any traffic system issues
  • Assist various departments with Wide Orbit conversion projects

MINIMUM POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Expert with traffic system software – Wide Orbit
  • Ability to organize and work in a fast-paced, deadline oriented environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • High school diploma required; college degree preferred.
  • Two or more years of experience in broadcast commercial trafficking software systems or equivalent combination of education and experience

MINIMUM POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proficiency in word processing and spreadsheet software programs; Word and Excel
  • Ability to organize and work in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to communicate successfully with people at many levels within the company as well as with vendors, clients, etc.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business
  • CPA, CMA or CIAA preferred
  • A combination of public and corporate accounting experience preferred
  • At least four years of relevant experience
  • Strong understanding of internal controls
  • Risk based auditing experience preferred
